District level Community Science Center
The District level Community Science Centre (CSC), Amreli, promoted by Gujarat Council on Science and Technology, (Govet. Of Gujarat),Gandhinagar , has been running since 2000 A.D.
The CSC organizes various science activities among the discreet and educational places of the District. The beneficiaries of these activities are students ( of Primary, Secondary, Higher Secondary and College), teaches (Primary, Secondary, and Higher secondary), farmers and Household women. CSC is specially conducting programmes in rural areas.
The upliftment programmes of school education into primary as well as secondary schools, training programmes for the primary as well as secondary school teachers, programme on the basic of guidance for the farmers and guidance to women reading health, sanitation and nutrition etc. is the part of CSC activities.
The CSC also recognized for the Energy Saving Awareness project by Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA), Vadodara. This project runs under the title Bal Urja Rakshak Dal (BURD) programme. The span of the BURD programme is in the 60 secondary schools and partially in the 60 primary schools of the District. There are 120 teachers, 60 social workers, and 1200 students who belong to the Bal Urja Rakshak Dal.
The main aim of CSC is to popularize science and to develop scientific attitude in heart and mind common people. To achieve this aim, more than 1000 programmes such as Science Education , Fun with Maths, Science Games, Science Dramas, Science Quiz, Removal of superstition, development of Scientific Attitude, Health and Nutrition awareness etc. and various seminars and pictorial as well as explanatory exhibition on various field of science, at various level of society, are arranged during the academic year.
