This section displays the various craft of the Kathi culture of the Kathiawar region. Beadwork, Hir-work, Toran, Chakla, Batwas, Hindhonis etc are on the display includes a informative map of Kathi rulers and their aria supported by some photographs as well.

Collection of Miniature Paintings

It is a good and remarkable collection of miniature paintings on Indian classical 5-Ragas and 30-Raginis types, are the replicas from the Rajputana School of paintings(Rajasthan).

Sangrahalaya

The museum is currently housed in a building popularly known as Rangamahal built n 1835 A.D., as residence of SUBA.(collector) of the erstwhile State of Baroda.

The museum as an idea was first conceived by Ho. Dr. Jivraj Mehta the first chief minister of the State of Gujarat and was supported by late PADMASHREE Prataprai G. Mehta, Shri Gangadasji Mehta and Shri Champaklalji Mehta. The Concept of the Children’s Museum is not very old. Though it was initiated as a small experiment in Amreli and now has evolved into a full-fledged scheme. This scheme was first put into action in 1954-55 at the initiative of Shri Prataprai G.Mehta, Shri Gangadasji Mehta and Shri Champaklalji Mehta and a pattern of Rural Children’s Museum has been evolved. In keeping with the scheme other rural children’s museums were also started in Sanganer near Jaipur, Naya Sanwada near Mount Abu, the National Children’s Museum at New Delhi, Pandit Motilal Nehru Children’s Museum at Lucknow, Children’s Gallery at Chennai and small centers at Chalala, Bagasara, Amreli and Kapadwanaj in Gujarat.
